Mechelse Heide Nature Reserve

Mechelse Heide is a walking area spread over the communes of Maasmechelen and Genk, a 1,000 acre break in the Kempen forest crisscrosed with hiking paths. Its high season is August 15 to September 15, when the heather is in full bloom.
