The Museum of Modern Art continues at the point where its nextdoor neighbor, the
Museum of Ancient Art, leaves off. Paintings, sculptures, and drawings from the 18th century through the 20th are presented in chronological order, spread out over 6 floors. The collection includes works by Jacques-Louis David (including his masterpiece "Marat Assasine"), Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Constantin Meunier, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gaugin, James Ensor, Rik Wouters, Gustave De Smet, Giorgio de Chirico, Ren Magritte (to whom an entire room is dedicated), Paul Delvaux, Asger Jorn, Claes Oldenburg, and Marcel Broodthaers.
