In 1986, the Antwerp Museum of Photography moved into a huge former riverfront warehouse, in the Het Zuid neighborhood only a few hundred meters from the city center. In the permanent collection, the history of photographs and the history of the photographic equipment are both given thorough treatment. The museum is complemented by a reading library with 20,000 volumes. There are several gallery floors available for temporary exhibitions.
