Soignes Forest lies immediately to the southeast of
Brussels. It covers 10,000 acres, and contains the remains of some old abbeys, numerous footpaths and bike trails, and countless beautiful old beech trees. Soignes is a remnant of the ancient Forest of Cologne which stretched over much of Belgium before it was developed.
