Yvoir lies on the eastern bank of the
Meuse River, a few kilometers south of the city of
Namur. It has a population of 8,000.
The E411 roadway passes through the far eastern corner of the commune.
Dorinne, Durnal, Evrehailles, Godinne, Houx, Mont, Purnode, and Spontin are boroughs within the municipal district of Yvoir. (There is another Mont in Houffalize, Luxembourg province.)
