Winemakers and proprietors Dave and Jan Olson are deeply committed to using only Sierra Foothill grapes. "Our wine is really chosen in the vineyard. The location and soil of the vineyard will dictate much of the style, and Mother Nature's weather patterns will affect the grapes from year to year". Dave guides the wine, choosing French or American oak barrels. Wines by Black Sheep include their award winning Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc, and True Frogs Lily Pad White, their whimsical frog label. Free tastings are offered weekends from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and weekdays by appointment.

All year Satellite Wagering, Waterworld USA, Paradise Island Fun Center and an RV Park are just a few of the features of the Cal Expo.The first State Fair was held in 1854 in San Francisco at the old Music Hall. The fair offered premiums (prizes) for its competitions and included such agricultural exhibits such as 2-inch-long peanuts, 72-pound beets and a 10-pound carrot that was longer than 3 feet. Horseracing was part of that first fair and has continued to be a part of the fair ever since.
