The water around the island is protected as Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. Many of the plants and animals who live here have adapted themselves to the windy and exposed location. Sea lions, seals, cormorants and sea birds are found here. Visitors must remain on trails and cannot bring pets. Primitive camping is allowed at certain locations, reservations required.
