Fountain Valley was incorporated as the 21st city into Greater Orange County in 1957.

Fountain Valley is located in the greater Los Angeles area. It is directly east of Huntington Beach and south of Garden Grove and Fullerton on the San Diego Freeway or Interstate 405.
