Mary Kimberly Shirk, an advocate for womens education and acting president of Scripps College during World War II, made a gift of her home, Kimberly Crest, to the people of Redlands. The complex includes a three-story 1897 house built in the French chateau style along with formal Mediterranean gardens. The house sits on a hill and contains furnishings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The house is open Thursday through Sunday except in August. The house is closed holidays.
