Just south of the Oregon border along the California coast, lies the Lake Earl State Park Project and Wildlife Areas. With 10,000 acres of lakes, wetlands, and wooded hillsides, this unique area offers recreation opportunities from the ocean beaches to forests. Wildlife from birds to sea lions are featured at this park. Great displays of wildflowers can be seen in the spring and early summer. The most recent Native Americans to occupy this area were the Tolowa. The park is located 2 miles north of Crescent City.
