Lake McClure

Search Visit California

Lake McClure, located just west of Coulterville, is fed by the magnificent Merced River, which begins its journey in nearby Yosemite National Park. McClure, along with its little sister, Lake McSwain, serves up a water enthusiast's mecca, with house boating, water-skiing, sailing and jet skiing.

Regular stockings of trout keep the fishery productive, and other varieties of fish including bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, salmon and shad keep anglers busy. Campsites are available, many offering full RV hookups.
