Scenic beauty waits within the city limits of
Lompoc. The Lompoc Murals Project fostered the creation of murals painted on building exteriors by some of the nation's foremost professional muralists.
Murals are throughout the city and depict the region's heritage and natural history. To get the most from a self-guided tour, ask the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce for a free murals project brochure.
The Lompoc Murals Project was conceived in 1988 by Gene and Judy Stevens. There are currently more than 60 works in the city's inventory. Among these is a special collection titled "Art Alley." This outdoor gallery handles works from both professional and amateur artists.
