Lomita is a small city between
Torrance and south
Los Angeles. The Railroad Museum is housed in a Victorian-style passenger depot and features scale models, photographs, and paintings of locomotives, as well as assorted railroad memorabilia. Outside the museum are a 1910 Union Pacific caboose and a 1902 Mogul locomotive. In the museum annex, you will find a 1913 box car and a 1923 oil tanker.
Picnicking is permitted on the grounds. The museum is closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
