The land now known as the City of Menlo Park was originally the home of Ohlone Indians, called by the Spaniards "Coastanoans", or Coast-dwellers. Evidences of their civilization are still being unearthed on the Filoli estate in Woodside, and along San Francisquito Creek. This community is on the north side of Stanford University. It's many tree lined streets and large homes are an attraction in themselves.
Menlo Park is located just south of San Francisco between San Mateo and Palo Alto along Highway 82 near the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. There is also a Menlo Park, New Jersey.
