Maritime Museum

Monterey's Maritime Museum contains the artifacts of Allen Knight, a seaman who built a stone ship next to his home to house his collection. A Fresnel lens from the Point Sur Lighthouse, weighing almost 5 tons, illuminates the museum's exhibits, which includes navigational instruments, ship models, photos and charts. A film on regional history is presented three times an hour.
