The drive along Highway 18 from San Bernardino leads to Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake, and other resort areas is known as Rim of the World Drive. This winding 40-mile road, at elevations of 5000 to 7000 feet, offers many panoramic view, including spectacular vista from Lakeview Point overlooking Big Bear Lake.

Visitors can take either Hwy 38 or Hwy 18 around Big Bear Lake and continue past Baldwin Lake over the Johnson and Cushenbury grades to Lucerne Valley, Apple Valley, and Victorville.
