Zipporah Patrick Russ donated Russ Park in 1920 for the stated purpose of providing a refuge and breeding place for birds. It contains 105 acres and has three miles of trails through a Sitka spruce forest.

Russ Park is reached from Ferndale by turning left at the end of Main Street and traveling .75 miles to the gravel parking area on the right.
