San Miguel California |
San Miguel is the home of the San Miguel Mission. Father Fermin Lasuen, Presidente of the California Missions Chain, founded Mission San Miguel Archangel on July 25, 1797. Named for Saint Michael the Archangel, it was the 16th mission founded in the 21 mission chain in California.
San Miguel is located north of San Luis Obispo between King City and Paso Robles along US Highway 101 on the banks of the Salinas River near Lake Nacimiento and Lake San Antonio.
San Miguel is part of the San Luis Obispo-Atascadero-Paso Robles metro area.
