Nestled in the foothills of Mount Tamalpais and fronted by the Pacific Ocean, this little hamlet has an inviting three-mile-long beach, surrounded by public park lands for your hiking and wandering pleasure.

The resort village is centered between Pt. Reyes National Sea Shore, Mount Tamalpais State Park and Muir Woods National Monument.

The Anchorage was built in 1910 as a hiking hostel and is now a town landmark. The Inn sits one block above the main street and overlooks the hills, village and ocean. The guest room features elegant furnishings, and a bathroom with antique claw foot tub. Breakfast includes coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, granolas, and pastry.

All year Satellite Wagering, Waterworld USA, Paradise Island Fun Center and an RV Park are just a few of the features of the Cal Expo.The first State Fair was held in 1854 in San Francisco at the old Music Hall. The fair offered premiums (prizes) for its competitions and included such agricultural exhibits such as 2-inch-long peanuts, 72-pound beets and a 10-pound carrot that was longer than 3 feet. Horseracing was part of that first fair and has continued to be a part of the fair ever since.
