Arapaho National Forest |
The 1,022,000 acres of the Arapaho National Forest embrace the mountain-studded areas of Northern Colorado. Forest lands encompass attractions such as ski areas, wilderness areas, and old mining towns. The Dillon, Granby and Green Mountain reservoirs offer trout fishing, and hunting in season is permitted with a state license. Scenic drives within the forest include the Mount Evans summit road, and the Peak to Peak Highway from Black Hawk to Estes Park. Winter sports enthusiasts can find plenty of recreation in the area at developed sites such as Arapaho Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Loveland Basin and Winter Park.
