Black Hawk is located west of
Denver, on Hwy 119. Known in 1877 as the "richest square mile on earth," today, Black Hawk and the nearby community of Central City are known for their casinos - with more than 50 game halls between the two towns.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park and
Eldorado Canyon State Park are nearby.
