Grand Valley OHV Area

The Grand Valley OHV area consists of 17 square miles of desert-like terrain for off-road vehicles. The barren hills of mancos shale offer challenging rides for all types of vehicles and all skill levels of riders. Cross country travel is permitted within the Grand Valley OHV Area boundaries. The OHV area is a "no shooting zone"; however, the pubic lands surrounding the OHV area, to the north and west, are open to target shooting and are themed quite heavily for this sport, so use extreme caution when traveling outside the Grand Valley OHV area. Travel management outside the "open" area is restricted to existing roads. The area is open year-round; no facilities or drinking water is available. Just north of the airport, outside Grand Junction city limits.
