The three-concourse arena opened for the first Avalanche game in October of '98. It will seat 19,309 for basketball and 18,129. Not only does the arena offer sports but also concerts, circuses, ice and family shows. The arena will hold approximately 21,000 for all non-sport related events. Between 160 and 200 different events are expected to take place at the venue each year.
