Haxtun Public Library, serving an area of 1,000 residents, has a collection of 6,900 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 25 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $3,400. Patrons make 1,680 visits annually, and check out materials 3,200 times. Fifty percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
