This southwestern Colorado national forest takes in over 1,800,000 acres west of the Continental Divide. Water recreation is plentiful within the forest, which encompasses several reservoirs and lakes. Also within the forest lies the Purgatory ski area, one of the state's most popular winter sports destinations.
