The Tread Pioneers Museum displays artifacts of the town's earliest residents as well as American Indian artifacts. Displays include hundreds of artifacts from the everyday life of the people who settled in this valley, beginning in the 1870s. There is a set of leg irons that once held the notorious killer, Harry Tracy, before he made a daring escape from the Routt County Jail circa 1890.
