Walden is the county seat of
Jackson County and is located in the northern part of the state on Highway 127, near the Wyoming border.
Walden rests on a high glacial plain at the headwaters of the North Platte River, historically a favorite Ute hunting ground. The local museum is housed in an 1882 ranch house, which includes re-created historical rooms and pioneer artifacts.
