Winter Park and the Fraser Valley offer a large variety of summer activities for visitors, in addition to its attraction as one of Colorado's major ski areas.
Surrounded by thousands of acres of the Arapaho National Forest and three designated wilderness areas, thirteen peaks rise above the valley floor to elevations of more than 12,000 feet. Local recreation includes a championship golf course, hot mineral baths, 240 miles of hiking trails, and 600 miles of marked and mapped biking trails. Hundreds of campsites can be found in the area, which is just 40 minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park. Other attractions include whitewater rafting and Colorado's longest alpine slide.
