In Cove Park, this is the only structure of its kind remaining in the oldest settlement in CT, after a flood in the late 1600s, the last reminder of Wethersfields colorful maritime past. See the maritime exhibit which explores Wethersfield role in the busy trade of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Also featured is the role of privateers, privately owned and armed vessels which engaged British supply ships to capture critical commodities for the American cause during the Revolutionary War.
