Search Torrington Connecticut

The centerpiece of this 240-acre park is a view, at 1,627 feet, from a summit pavilion (formerly the summer residence) of Dr. Frederick Shepard Dennis, a noted New York surgeon who gave this property to the State of Connecticut in 1935. In clear weather, Haystack Mountain, Mt. Greylock, the Green Mountains, and a portion of the State of New Hampshire are visible from the summit.

Hiking, picnicking and cross-country skiing are popular activities here.

The park is located 2 miles south of Norfolk on Route 272.
