Located on Whitney Ave., the museum commemorates the inventor with permanent displays of Whitney memorabilia and working models of a cotton gin. The spirit of inventiveness is explored with various rotating hands-on exhibits. On the landscaped grounds are a covered bridge, a waterfall and water learning lab, where valves and levers can be operated to alter the flow of water. Open daily 11am-4pm; June15 through September 1. Wednesday - Friday and Sunday, noon-5pm, Saturday, 10am-3pm; rest of the year.
