This 18th century house reflects two different architectural styles. The original portion of the 1761 house is a typical Colonial house of the mid-1700s, while the north wing, added in 1794, is one of the first examples of the neo-Classical style in the Connecticut Valley. It contains one of the few known signed and dated rooms; on its walls are four French hand-blocked wallpapers of the 1790s. Open Wednesday-Sun, 1pm-4pm, July through August. Open Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday, 1pm-4pm, mid-May through June 30, and September 1 through mid-October.
