Lourdes in Litchfield

Search Litchfield Connecticut

The principal shrine at Lourdes in Litchfield is the Grotto of Our Lady, constructed of local fieldstone in a natural rock ledge, and modeled after the actual grotto in Lourdes, France. The shrine grounds are open to the public year-round. Devotion services and pilgrimage programs are held from the first Sunday of May to mid-October. Group pilgrimages can be arranged by contacting the shrine director at least a month in advance. Besides the grotto are the stations of the cross, several shrines, and Pilgrim Hall.
