This museum contains a collection of permanent and changing exhibits, including more than 5,000 paintings, graphics and sculptures tracing the history of American art from 1740 to the present. Included are murals by Thomas Hart Benton and works by Mary Cassatt, John Singleton Copley, Winslow Homer, Gilbert Stuart, James McNeill Whistler and artists of the Hudson River School.

Guided tours for the visually-impaired are available by appointment.

Open Tuesday through Friday, 1pm-5pm, Saturday, 10am-5pm, Sunday, noon-5pm. Closed holidays.
