The New London Maritime Society is the custodian of the 1833 U.S. Customs House. The Society was formed to save this historic building from commercial use and established there the New London Maritime Museum. This private non-profit educational institution offers exhibits and collections that are as diverse as New London's maritime history. The New London Robert Mills U.S. Custom House and Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
