The Pine Grove Schoolhouse was built in 1865 and in use until 1949. On October 7th the construction of the Pine Grove School would begin. The total cost of the construction would be $1,538.34. It was opened December of the same year the construction began. These subjects English, grammar, mathematics, geography, history, music, and art were the subjects taught by a single teacher by the name of Miss Francis. For 62 years the school would be known as School Number 7 until it was renamed The Pine Grove School in 1927.
Closing in 1949 as a school, the building would remain open as a branch library, a nursery school, and a meeting place for Explorer Scouts. Still standing today the Pine Grove Schoolhouse would become a early twentieth century schoolhouse in 1975 with bolted desks, hand slates, textbooks, and a working stove.
