Founded in 1877, this is an independent, nonsectarian coeducational institution offering extensive undergraduate and graduate programs ranging from liberal arts to business, and offering degrees up to the doctorate. There are 9 undergraduate schools and 7 graduate schools. The total enrollment of approximately 7,000 enjoys a student-faculty ratio of 14 to 1. The 320-acre campus is in a suburban area 4 miles northwest of Hartford.
Fraternities, sororities and many clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours are available through the admissions office.
