Willimantic is located in
Windham County (of which it is the county seat) east of Hartford between Mansfield Center and South Windham along Highway 66 on the banks of the Shetucket River near Pomeroy State Park. Located just south of Waugmabaug Lake.
Willimantic is part of the Hartford, Connecticut metro area.
