The borough of Macclesfield in
Cheshire is about 20 miles south of
Manchester and a similar distance to the
The Potteries. Most of the borough is located in the North Cheshire Green Belt. Macclesfield's origins were as a silk town, evidence of which can be found in many old mill buildings in the area.
