Humber

Ancient Abus

The Humber is an estuary on the east coast of England, between Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, flowing from the junction of the Ouse and Trent near Faxfleet for a distance of 18 miles east and 19 miles southeast into the North Sea at Spurn Head. It is an important commercial waterway, from one mile to eight miles wide, serving Hull, Immingham, and Grimsby, and by canals, south Yorkshire, the Trent, and the Midlands.
