Nothing could be more magical than the Roman Baths in the evening, with the steam gently rising from the waters and the torches flickering in their sconces. Enjoy the atmosphere on an August evening when the Roman Baths are open to everyone. The Pump Room at Bath is one of the most famous buildings in the country. Built in the elegant Georgian style in 1795, it includes the spa water fountain overlooking the hot spring that was sacred to the Romans. During the day it is open for lunches and light refreshments. The Roman Baths is open daily, except December 25 & 26. The admission charge includes a free audio tour; hourly tours of the Roman Baths and short tours at periodic intervals in the Museum of Costume are free.
