Arcadia is located in DeSoto County southeast of Tampa between Winter Haven and Punta Gorda along US Highway 17 on the banks of the Peace River near Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico.Arcadia has two lines of railway. The Atlantic Coast Line railway has furnished shipping facilities since 1886, and within the last eighteen months the Charlotte Harbor and Northern railway has completed its line from Arcadia to Boca Grande. There is also an Arcadia, Wisconsin.
