Located on the central campus of Broward Community College, the planetarium was built in 1965 through a bequest of aviation pioneer Emil Buehler. Over the past 35 years, the planetarium has presented star shows and astronomical programs to almost a million visitors. As a result of a substantial gift from the Emil Buehler Trust, the planetarium has been completely renovated, reopening in 1988 with a Zeiss M1015 star projector and a sophisticated computerized automation system.
The planetarium offers a full schedule of programs at the observatory; phone ahead for times and topics. School shows and private shows are also available by pre-arrangement, contact the planetarium for details.
