Bunnell is located in Flagler County (of which it is the county seat) south of Jacksonville between Palatka and Ormond Beach along US Highway 1 near Crescent Lake and the Atlantic seacoast. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,379, an increase of 506 since 1990.
