Chekika-Everglades National Park

Located 18 miles northwest of Homestead, Florida; offers 640 acres of hardwood hammocks and wetlands, with more than 100 species of birds making their homes here. Facilities at the Chekika visitor use area include a picnic area and nature trails, however, there is no visitor center at this location. Open daily for day use; Chekika is located 6 miles west of State Road 997 (Krome Avenue) on SW 168 Street.
