This southwest Florida recreation area is a narrow barrier island, separated from the mainland by mangrove swamps & tidal creeks. Visitors here enjoy fishing, swimming, picnicking, boating and canoeing. Picnic tables and grills are located behind the secondary dunes in the shade, with easy boardwalk access to over a mile of sugar sand beach. Bathhouses with changing stalls and outdoor showers are provided. The most popular fishing is found at Wiggins Pass, the only area along the park's beach where fishing is allowed, but a boat launch provides access to the back bays, Cocohatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico. A variety of ranger-hosted interpretive programs are offered; reservations for these activities are required. Located 6 miles south of Bonita Springs off CR901, off Hwy 41.
