Highland Beach is located in Palm Beach County south of West Palm Beach between Delray Beach and Boca Raton on US Hwy 1.
Highland Beach is part of the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, Florida metro area.
In the 1500-1600s, pirates and buccaneers made Highland Beach their home. Here the living was easy; safety from storms and pursuit and easy access to plunder the gold-laden galleons of old Spain.
This community has many Recreational opportunities to enjoy, such as the Atlantic Dunes Park, acres of Ocean access, beach swimming and nature trails just to name a few.
Highland Beach was incorporated in 1949.
