Port Charlotte is located in Charlotte County south of Sarasota between Venice and Punta Gorda along Highway 41 near Charlotte Harbor and the Myakka River. Port Charlotte is part of the Punta Gorda, Florida metro area.
Port Charlotte is a relatively new community developed in the late 1950's.
Port Charlotte is equipped with over 20 public parks, fishing piers, boat ramps, docks, tennis courts, nature trails, bike paths, basketball courts and golf.
