Treasure Island is located in
Pinellas County just west of
St Petersburg between
Madeira Beach and
St Petersburg Beach along Hwy 699 near
Tampa Bay and the
Gulf of Mexico (part of the
Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida metro area).
The tranquil community of Treasure Island is casual and friendly, offering a sunny welcome to all who visits. Water sports, fishing, golfing, beaching, sightseeing, and just plain relaxing are favorite pastimes here. In addition, the Pinellas County Recreational Trail, stretching 47 miles (76 km) from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, provides a wonderful place for walkers, bikers, joggers and skaters to strut their stuff.
Treasure Island features a family atmosphere and is known for its events including a regional sport kite competition in January, the Taste of the Beaches food festival in April, "Symphony on the Beach" in May and a week-long Pirate Days extravaganza during the July 4th weekend.
