Le Touquet Paris-Plage France

Located at the mouth of the Canche River, 20 miles south of Boulogne, the seaside resort of Le Touquet Paris-Plage has always been considered a paradise for water sports. Created in the 19th century, the resort became fashionable with the rich & famous between WWI and WWII. A vast pine forest, planted in 1855, surrounds the town. To the west are stylish hotels, vacation residences and sophisticated shops and restaurants bordering the beach. A racecourse and 2 casinos (the Casino du Palais on Place de l'Hermitage and Casino Saint-Jean at 26, rue Saint Jean) help retain Le Touquet s affluent atmosphere. Available activities include horseback riding, golf and land yachting. Etaples-Le Touquet railway station is located at Etaples (approx. 3 km from Le Touquet), with regular coach service between the station and Le Touquet. The tourist office is located in the Palais de l Europe on place de l Hermitage in the center of the town.
